I help organizations:
* Map and understand complex domains to make better decisions
* Design, implement and monitor models, processes and systems to achieve goals
* Craft communication strategies and outreach initiatives to grow awareness and market share
Coming from a computer science background, i've had the chance to learn to play many instruments on the way to becoming a one man band and an orchestrator:
- Building and managing projects, products and teams of all sizes and shapes
- Serving Fortune 500, startups and NGOs as a consultant
- Contributing to award-winning, widely cited research and projects
- Working with top tier organizations as an independent analyst
- Identifying, evaluating and popularizing technology trends as an advisor and a writer
- Founding innovative, award-winning startups
- Growing successful brands from the ground up
- Creating top-tier content: events, podcasts, newsletters, blog posts and reports
I enjoy researching, developing, applying, writing and talking about cutting edge concepts and technology, and their implications on society and business.
Areas of expertise include knowledge graphs, AI and emerging technology, distributed systems, databases and data management, semantics, metadata and knowledge management.
I got started with AI as a student in the early 90's, implementing genetic algorithms in Pascal and expert systems in Prolog. Later on in the early 00's i started working with knowledge graphs and distributed systems. I worked on various analytics and machine learning projects in the 10's, and started covering the space as an analyst and writer. I started organizing events and wrote my first book in the 20's.
I regularly host AI leaders and innovators such as Andrew Ng and Gary Marcus on my podcast and newsletter. I also work with outlets such as O'Reilly, VentureBeat and ZDNet, writing and talking about all things data, analytics and AI.
I have taught a wide variety of subject matters to audiences of all sizes and shapes. From academic courses to tailored business training and 1-on-1 coaching. From the principles of Object-Oriented Programming and Pragmatic AI for business stakeholders to Intelligent Web Applications for Master students.
